Create your own wedding invitation

Make a sophisticated 5X7 wedding invitation or statement featuring an image of you and your better half. You could be able to economize, as well as create an invite that could be a perfect match for you and your marriage.

1) Most importantly, you must decide what quantity of people you intend to invite to the marriage. This wedding invitation is simple to do, nonetheless it can be lengthy. If you intend to make one hundred or even more, consider enrolling assistance from some bridesmaids or family!

2 ) Find and order copies of a sweet image of you and your better half to use for the invite. You will need to order 4x6 prints if you're making a 5X7 invite. Think about using an engagement picture, or a personal number one of the 2 of you. You can choose for a full color photo, but a black and white or sepia tone photograph may give your invite a posher look. ( Save cash by employing an internet picture printing company like "Snapfish" or "Winkflash" )

3 ) Select 2 colours of card stock paper, and a sheer velum paper. You'll be using one color for the key body of the card, and another as a matte for your photograph and the invite wording on the inside. The vellum paper will be used for the invite wording. The quantity of card stock paper you purchase will rely on the amount of invites you intend to make. I used 12x12 cardstock which may make two full invite bodies, or 3 photograph / wording mattes. ( remember that you're going to need two pieces of matte per invite. ) you should purchase packs of eight half x eleven vellum paper, and each sheet will make two invites. ( So for 100 invites you'd need fifty sheets of 12x12 card stock for the card body, 67 sheets of 12x12 card stock for the mattes, and fifty sheets of vellum paper for the wording.

4 ) Cut a sheet of card stock paper into 2 7x10 lengths. ( you may have excess paper to ditch.) This is for the body of the card : repeat this step till you have as many invites as you need. ( A scrapbooking or pro paper cutter would work nicely for this. )

5) Fold the body of the card in half and crease well.

6) Then take the other colour of card stock paper, and cut out 3 four half x six half "matte" pieces. ( Again, you'll have excess paper you can dump or save for later projects. ) Repeat this step till you have enough matte pieces for all of your invites.

7 ) Now, take one matte piece and stick it to the centre of the front of your card. ( Repeat for each card. )

8) stick a photograph to the centre of each matte you fastened on the front of your invite. ( Repeat for each card. ) the exterior of your card will be complete.

9 ) For the interior of your card, you need to type up your invite wording to print on the vellum paper. ( you may use any "Word" program. When you type your invite wording on the PC, select a landscape layout under print set up, and create 2 columns in your document. Cut'n'paste your wording from one column to the subsequent so you'll be printing for 2 invites at a time. Ensure the margins are set so you'll finish up with two focused 4x6 pieces of vellum after you cut the paper. You may then print the document, and cut 2 4x6 pieces of vellum paper wording from each sheet. ( Print and cut till you have enough for all invites. )

10) Center the vellum paper with your wording onto the leftover piece of card stock matte. Then, using an one / 8" hole puncher, punch 2 holes just above the wording at the very top of the vellum paper, and punch thru to the card stock paper behind. ( Repeat for each card. )

11) Attach the vellum paper to the card stock paper with ribbon. I pulled each end of the ribbon thru one of the punched holes then crossed the ribbons in the back and pulled each end of the ribbon out the opposite hole. You may simply tie a bow if that's simpler. ( Repeat for each card. ) twelve ) Now, center and stick this card stock matte to the right side of the interior of the card body. ( Repeat this for each card. ) Now you are finished with your card! Be happy to add your own twist to your invite or design.
